Cape Girardeau’s new Fire Station No. 4 features more than 3,800 square feet of living space, a 4,900-square-foot three-bay apparatus area and nearly 3,000 square feet dedicated to an exercise room, training space, gear room, and additional storage. The structure consists of a NUCOR pre-engineered metal building and was completed in just 14 months, despite a job site that required 50 truckloads of rock to be removed from the site before construction could begin.

Other recent design-build projects for the city have included the new Cape Girardeau Sportsplex, a 121,000-square-foot world-class facility located at North Kingshighway and I-55 in Cape Girardeau, and the 82,000-square-foot Cape Girardeau County Courthouse, located at 203 High Street in Jackson.
