Construction of a third redraw rod mill at Noranda Aluminum’s New Madrid, Missouri, facility has been completed. Redraw rod is used to make electrical wire and cable. Penzel Construction was tapped to provide earthwork and foundations for the new rod mill, which increased Noranda Aluminum’s redraw rod capacity to 220 million pounds annually, up more than 40 percent from its previous capacity of 155 million pounds.
