Do it Best Corp. is the only United States-based full-line, full-service, member-owned distributor of lumber, hardware, and building materials products in the home improvement industry. Given the scope and complexity of construction, Penzel Construction was brought in to lend their expertise. Nearly 20,000 yards of concrete were required for this project, so Penzel Construction established a temporary batch concrete plant adjacent to the site. In addition to the structure’s shell, a “building within a building” was constructed to house all flammable materials, such as paints and solvents. An advanced HVAC system provides four sprinklers every nine feet and the air volume is replenished four times an hour. Amazingly, this massive facility was completed in just 10 months.
